Roy Carne sent us this email. Thank you Roy.

"Dear Hayle Archives.

The Connor Comets! Wow! What a surprise! I certainly recognise my Mother, Lilian Carne, Cousin Dora Shepherd (still at Commercial Road), Cousin Josephine Richards, the driving force and leading light, Billie Dicketts (she was an Artist evacuated from London who always took the male role!) and her friend Micky Mitchell.

I think I recognise Reg Hollow (Sampsons Terrace) and, possibly, Jim Roberts (also of Sampsons Terrace). If I look long enough and hard enough, others may come to mind. By that time I had left Connor Downs - and look at what they got up to behind my back!

Many thanks for all that. A Happy New Year to you all.

Regards, Roy Carne, Wincanton"
